Hills Speedway hosted NMMRA's Season Finale Saturday nite with 25 Sprinters in
the Pits. Santa Fe's #0 Steve Nix went wire to wire from his outside Pole
Start in the CTI/Best Mobile 25 Lap Feature; Taking the $1,400 1st Prize from
El Paso's #X Rick Ziehl. #16 Tom Ball Started 10th and was closing on the
Leaders but by Finishing 3rd, his nights Points Total gave him the NMMRA 2002
Season Championship over 36L Joe Larkin Jr. who's Lap 4 three car accident
took him out of the Points Chase. 4th was #75 Miles Merritt Followed by
Tularosa's Mike Ziehl, Aztec's #18 Asha Kesterson and NMMRA's 2002 Rookie of
the year Cedar Crest's #9 Kelly Denison.
Denison won the Knighton's Automotive Rookie Dash; While Rick Ziehl won the
A-1 Transmission Fast Dash,
F-2 Aztec's LC Kesterson won the Learitt group 12 Lap Semi over #17 Ron King
& #15 Los Cruces' Tom Ceniceros.
Heat Winners were Rick Ziehl #25 Jared Scutt, Mike Ziehl and 2002 Champion Tom
Ball.
