Another windy day made for another tedious evening for the 21
NMMRA Non - Winged Sprinters on Duke City Raceway's 3/8th Mile oval.
Our only gal driver #4L Kristy Smith won the 1st Heat over #17 Ron King
&1st time rookie #9 Kelly Denison. 3 time champ #48x Bobby Seals started
last but won the 2nd Heat from #73 Nick Rael & Santa Fe's #52 Dave Burns.
#75 Miles Merrit wired our 3rd Heat ; but Points Leader Joe Larkin, Jr.
starting 7th was a close 2nd followed by #16 Tom Ball.
#21 Anthony Tafoya lead the 1st 3 laps of the 20 lap Feature. #36L Joe
Larkin, Jr. moved his LA-ZI Racing/Pennzoil ride from 10th to the lead on lap
4 and survived 2 yellows to take a 6 car length Win over #0 Santa Fe's Steve
Nix, Tafoya, #5J Jeff Brumfield & #01 Los Lunas' Larry Stoerkel, as 17
sprinters took the checker.
NMMRA will run again 5/18 before a three week break. Both points and race
