Gaunt led the early laps of the main, but once Kruseman passed him he was never seriously challenged. Kirby and Gaunt both had to restart at the back after problems and finished fifth and sixth respectively. Rutherford apparently ran out of brakes. Ekiss
made his first ever dash and “A” main - his previous best finish was a ninth in the “B” main. Chris Rahe did a fine job finishing tenth. Rahe got into the “A” Main after Jeremy Sherman, in the Tamale Wagon, and Lance Gremett tangled coming off turn four on
the last lap of the “B” Main allowing him to take the final transfer. Ostling, who started 17th, had worked into the top ten before his problem. Williams started 21st and was up to tenth on lap 17 when he turned it over coming out of four. He was uninjured.
