RAIN POSTPONES SCRA MAIN EVENT |

PERRIS, CA, MARCH 1, 2003 - Round two of the NAPA / Auto Trader Magazines Sprint Car Racing Association (SCRA) series was postponed after a rain shower hit the Perris Auto Speedway prior to the start of the 30-lap main event. The main event will be run before the previously scheduled March 15th race at Perris. Mike English will start his Sharon Jory / Tomarco Fasteners No. 6 Stinger on the pole for the race thanks to his JE Pistons Dash victory. In time trials, Rodney Argo drove the Don Argo / Decore Plating entry to his fourth career Sander Engineering Fast Time Award. Argo's fast lap gave him the award for the first time since the 1999 season. It was a tough night for many drivers before the rain hit. Riding out flips during the course of the evening were Bobby Cody, Jimmy Crawford, Charles Davis, Jr., Bob Ferro, Mark Heidenreich and Mel Murphy. Fortunately, none of these drivers appeared to be injured. Davis was, however, taken to a local hospital for further observation.
