June 28th, 2003 San Felipe, NM) Grants,
NM’s #22 Bo Baker took the lead on Lap 22 of the scheduled Sprint 25 Lap
Feature at Hollywood Hills Speedway. He scored his 2nd straight win; increasing
his 2003 NMMRA Points Lead to 31 Points. Rio Rancho’s #6NM Robert Marfia Jr.
had held the lead since Lap 5, hung on for 2nd ahead of #62 Chris Faber, Santa
Fe’s #0x Steve Nix and 2002 Rookie of the year #9 Kelly Denison.
The Leavitt Group Dash for Cash saw Rookie #5J-r Jeff Brumfield Jr. Take home
the 1st Place check from #76 Tim Jones, #K2 Kevin Faber and #93 Jon Taylor.
#76 Jones received the traditional Bath as he won the 1st Heat from #0H Santa
Fe’s Russ Hein and #4L Kristy Smith. 2nd Heat winner was 6NM Marfia over #62
Chris Faber and #24 Russell Gossett. #0x Nix took the 3rd Heat from Los Lunas’
#01 Larry Stoerkel and Baker.
Joining the NMMRA Sprinters were the Hobby Stocks. #0 J.R. Bonesteel won their
20 Lap Feature from #16 Randy Carter, #00 Steve Bonesteel (JR’s Dad), #9
Jennifer Bertetto and #2 Ron Leathem Sr. Carter had won the Heat from #00.
Sprinters return to Duke City Raceway July 12th.
