JOE LARKIN JR. WINS AT HOLLYWOOD HILLS |

SAN FELIPE, NM - MAY 10, 2003 - Albuquerque's #36L Joe Larkin Jr used his
pole position to wire the Sprit 25 lap main event. The former 2000 champion took
the Don Brown checker over Peralta's # 48 Bobby Seals, Phoenix, Az's #45x Ricky
Hood, Santa Fe's #0x Steve Nix and Los Lunas' #01 Larry Stoerkel. Larkin missed a Sweep as #16 Tom Ball 2002 Champ beat Larkin, Nix, & 2002 Rookie of the year #9 Kelly Denison in the Leavitt Group's Dash for Cash. Larkin had won the 1st Heat over Rookies #93 Jon Taylor & #38 JC Powell, Jr. The 2nd heat had #6nm Robert Marfia Jr. ahead of Seals and #17 Ron King. The 3rd Heat was marred when Team cars #61 Charlie Fegan & # 65 Ricky Johnson tangled in #2 corner sending both cars hard into the wall. Johnson received a neck injury, as Fegan was able to walk away. Then Grants #22 Bo Baker took the 3rd heat over Nix and Hood. South West Super Trucks were on hand from Las Cruces and El Paso. Heat winner # 6T Dirk Squibb and #12 Critt Coburn. Their 20 lap main was won by #54b Warren Beatty from #429 Cheryl Fox, Squibb, Coburn and #3d Brent Deetz NMMRA Sprints return to Duke City Raceway Saturday May 17th, 2003. |
