The
New Mexico Motor Racing Association (NMMRA) has been in
existence since 1950. The club has storied past with several
well known past champions, including Casey Luna, Al Unser,
Buddy Taylor, Jerry Miller, and Johnny Capels. The NMMRA
allows a maximum of 410 cubic inch engines with non-aluminum
blocks.
In 2003, Bo Baker, a second generation driver from Grant's NM won the title
over another second generation driver, Steve Nix of Santa Fe, NM. Third
Generation driver, Tom "T" Ball finished third, followed by standout
driver Kelly Denison. The NMMRA had close to 40 cars join their ranks and look
forward to better things to come.
