Connie Wiedell won the first CRA Turkey Night race...it was at Saugus Speedway, then called Bonelli Stadiun, on Nov. 28, 1946. Jack McGrath was 2nd.

Parnelli Jones won the CRA opener in 1959 (El Centro) driving the Fike Special with a number 1 on the tail tank.

Parnelli also won the last show of the year in 59 on Nov.29th. and the opening race the next year on Feb 21, the second half of the 2 day show in March at El Centro. Back to Arizona, on Feb 9th he won at Manzanita and the next night Feb 10th he won at Tucson, driving the Fike Special.

May 30th, 1960, Ernie Koch won the 100 mile race in 41 min, at Vacaville, Ca.

Don Davis won 8 CRA races in 1960, one of those was in Riverside, Ca.

Louie Unser won a CRA race at Ascot on June 10, 1961.

One of the Eight wins for Billy Cantrell in 1961 came in Clovis driving the Tamale Wagon on August 27th, the day after Allen Heath won at Ascot in the Famigetti Bros. #8.

Bobby Unser picked up the CRA win on Sept. 30, 1961 in Tucson. Bobby won again 1 year later at Ascot on Sept. 8, 1962.

Al Unser finished 4th the night Gene Brown won Manzanita on July 6th 1963.

Bobby Hogle won both days of the 2 day El Centro race in March of 1964 driving the Tamale Wagon, the 14 wins that year for Hogle/Morales also included, Western Speedway, Ascot, Champion Speedway in San Francisco, Santa Maria and Orange Show in San Bernardino.  Part of that 14 race string was broke up by a second place in Hanford behind Hal Minyard 2 days after his Sept 2 win at Ascot. (The following week they set a new 1 lap track record and picked up the win at Orange Show.)

Nov 24, 1964, 2nd place Billy Wilkerson separated Al Pombo and winner Marshall Sargent for the Pacific Coast Open, (the Pombo/Sargent race is a yearly event in central Calif.)

Hal Minyard set a new track record of 22 min with his win at West Capital Speedway in Sacramento on April 4th 1965.

The CRA ran in Pleasanton, Ca (Alameda Co) on July 18, 1965. The race was won by the Hogle/Morales team. Dick Fries set a new 1 lap track record (25.78) and finished 5th in the main.

With tracks in Riverside and San Francisco still on the calendar, Billy Wilkerson won the Clovis race in the Bartz #27 on Sept. 5th. 1965.

Don Thomas was a 3 time winner in Pacoima at Whitemans Field, the year Mike Mosley drove the Tamale Wagon to 4 wins at Whitemans Field in 1966.

Walt Reiff was the CRA winner on Aug 20,'66 in Altamont, Ca.

Billy Wilkerson ran a strong second to Dick Fries in December of 66 for the second Irwindale race of the year.

Billy Vukovich was a CRA winner in the Tamale Wagon on Wilda Kindoll's birthday in 1967.

Billy Wilkerson set a new track record the next week in Reno Nevada, one week later Billy won at Irwindale notching his second win of the year after an Ascot CRA win in March. Billy's 8 wins that year also included a win in Pacoima. CRA ended the 1967 year with a race on December 10th at Ascot, Paul Jones won in the Bromme #5 followed by Hogle and Wilkerson.
