Congratulation to SCRAfan.com on reaching the milestone of
100,000 hits on August 21st. The
website, which recently received an award for web design, is put together
by Lance & Lori Jennings. Along
with their Mom, who is known to everyone as “Mom,” they are three of the
nicest people you will ever meet in racing… If you have tickets to the canceled September 10th World of
Outlaws race at The PAS, you can get a refund or you can use them for the first 2002 World of Outlaws race at The PAS.
For information, please call the office at (909) 940-0134…
Cory
Kruseman’s sixth straight win at The PAS came while car owner Harlan Willis
was laying comfortably on the beach in Cabo.
The way Willis figured it is, if the “Kruzer” could lay comfortably
on a Doctor’s table earlier in the week, he (Willis) should
be allowed to lay comfortably on the beach…
Labor Day weekend marked the 55th Anniversary of CRA’s
first ever race which Wally Pankratz won over Billy Cantrell. Ok you jokesters,
not the same Wally Pankratz… Arizona’s Charles Davis Jr., who finished 5th at
Santa Maria the previous week, bettered that spot by one place last
the following week. Davis has
quietly went about running in the top 10 in points nearly all season long…
We had a wide assortment of chassis manufacturers represented in the PAS a few weeks back.
With information on 38 of the 40 cars present, the breakdown was as
follows: Stinger (7), TCR
(6), Gambler (4), Okie (3), Buckley, Ellis, Stealth and Sled (2 each) and Jon
Boy, Tognotti, Meli, Avenger, Rocket, Lightning, Challenger and Victory
(1 each). Top 10 chassis rundown at
the conclusion of the 30-lap main event was: TCR (3 – including 1st
and 2nd), Jon Boy, Buckley, Stealth, Avenger, Sled, Stinger and Gambler (1 each)… A hearty
congratulations and Best
Wishes to racers “Hotfoot” Troy Cline and Denise Szymczak who were married in Las Vegas on September 9th…
Also, make plans to be at The PAS for the SCRA Sprint Car/USAC Western Midgets doubleheader on
October 5th and 6th.
Last year, there were nearly 100 cars in the pit area.
Will somebody kindly tell USAC that they are here both of those nights?
For the second year in a row, they have listed it on their schedule as a
one-night affair. Wrong Again!!! It
was great to see and hear Jim Naylor at The PAS recently.
Naylor has been promoting the beautiful Ventura Raceway for over 20 years. Don’t
forget that The PAS will dark on Saturday October 20th, SCRA will be
at Ventura for their regular show and the annual WagsDash…
Do you ever listen to KFWB 980 AM in Los Angeles for traffic reports?
If you do, you no doubt recognize the golden voice of
Brooklyn born Jetcopter 980 pilot Jeff Baugh.
Take a look around you the next time you are at a race in Southern
California. Baugh is a HARD CORE
Sprint Car fan… Keep an eye on 2000
SCRA Rookie of the Year Jarrett Chaney. Over the past few races he has been on fire. He recently won his
first ever JE PASSING Masters dash last and has been running around the top five
in recent weeks… Speaking
of first wins, Jack DeArmond Jr. walked away from the field to win his first
SCRA recently…
