career best second ahead of fourth ranked David Sheffield. Jim Willis added to
his big street stock season point lead with a win ahead of third ranked Dan
Harmon and Jay Pape. Still using a car borrowed from father Steve, J R Bonesteel

current rookie of the year point leader Jeff Brumfield Jr. Point leader Baker
was fifth ahead of Kesterson, J C Powell, Chris Faber, Russell Gossett and Tim

and Eric Alwin scratching. Seifried and Sheffield continued their strong
evenings with 2nd and 3rd place runs ahead of Mark McClarran, Johnson, Haaland,

won heat 1 over Willis. Busy three division competitor Ron Frazier Jr won heat 2
ahead of Pape and Clay Moseley. Nick Herrera was a main event scratch to leave
14 cars. Willis won the feature race ahead of Harmon, Pape, Andy Tanner, Ralph
Garcia, Kyle Jr, James Tyrell and Jennifer Zorn. Willis built his point lead to

point lead cut to 32 points by York. Boelter ran 16th and stands 46 points out
of first. S Kapinski is fourth, 8 points back of Boelter. J Bonesteel is fifth,
12 points behind S Sapinski.
Fast approaching is the two
race end to the New Mexico Modified Holiday Championship Series on Saturday and
Sunday nights of Labor Day weekend. Both nights pay $1000 to win and the overall
champion of the four race series pockets $2000. Reid and Bumper Jones from Las
Cruces won the Memorial Day weekend main events. The unwinged sprint cars, dirt
modifieds, late models and hobby stocks race on August 23. The holiday weekend
