Lake Pleasant, AZ....May 25.......By
traveling close to Phoenix, AZ, the USAC Southwest Unwinged Sprint Car Series
car count grew to 32 cars and veteran Phoenix area racer Charles Davis Jr won
the 30 lap feature after passing Eric Wilkins on lap 22. Wilkins had taken the
lead from Brandon Lane on lap 4 and he finished second ahead of Saturday night
runnerup Ronnie Clark and fast timer Jeff Branaman. Kent Rosevear, the Saturday
night winner at Show Low, did not appear at Canyon. The sprint cars were joined
by the IMCA Modifieds, who were racing for a second straight night. In just his
second race night at Canyon in a new family built car, Terry Belcher Jr won the

fourth with his 14.48 lap. Matt Rossi, Wilkins, Lane and Clark rounded out the

of the 30 lap feature with Wilkins taking over for the next 18 laps. Davis got
