January 4, 2004...The 2004 racing season is going to be a busy one
for the NCMA sprints, beginning with several of the cars from the
club entering into the Sacramento Autorama car show in February. The
show will be held at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds in Sacramento on
Friday, Feb.6, noon to 10PM, Saturday Feb.7,10AM-10PM, and
Sun.Feb.8, 10AM-8PM. The tentative 2004 race schedule has been released, and the traveling club is excited about the inclusion of the new West Coast Select Series in their dirt racing schedule. This series will consist of 6 races at 4 tracks in CA and Nevada.The first NCMA point race and 1st series race as well, will be at Bakersfield Speedway's 1/3 mile track on Saturday, March 13. The next series race will be at Chowchilla Speedway's 1/3 mile track on Saturday, April 24. On Friday May 7 the series will run at Watsonville's 1/4 mile track, and Saturday, July 10 at Reno-Fernley's 3/8 mile track in Nevada. Friday, August 13 will be the 5th series race in Watsonville, and the final one will be held at Chowchilla on Saturday, September 11. The winner of this series will be awarded $1000 from a special point fund, and the club hopes to obtain additional sponsorship to increase the fund. The West Coast Select Series will give teams a chance to experience a wide variety of tracks, and still have fun racing for a championship title.
