8,2003) The celebration and awards banquet for the 2003 NCMA
sprints was held
at the Ramada Inn in Santa Nella on Saturday, November 8. Surrounded
by black and white decorations splashed with colorful photos of the
drivers, crews, and cars, members enjoyed a great meal and spent a
memorable evening together.
During dinner, numerous items were raffled off by president Pat
Ariaz. The "biggee", a new 2004 Stinger chassis, was won
by a surprised Leon Holloway. Trophies and plaques were awarded to
drivers, crews, sponsors, and more, while emcee Ed Amador did an
impressive job of keeping the program rolling along.
All of the drivers received a trophy or plaque, with the big ones
awarded to Scott Holloway for his 6th championship win in combined
dirt and asphalt points, as well as the championship in dirt, and
Pat Ariaz for his asphalt series championship. Special awards were
given to John Fenton for rookie of the year, Russ Wullenwaber for
most improved
driver, Don Hicks for sportsmanship, with an honorable mention to
George Terry for his good sportsmanship, and Pat Ariaz, for best
appearing car.
The newly elected officers were announced at the end of the award
presentations. The lineup for the 2004 season will be:

The evening concluded with music and dancing in an adjoining room,
