Frank Carrier (1943
- 2004) was the crew chief on the Family Auto Service #98x
owned by Floris Fillipich and driven by Andy Forsberg. Frank was truly
one of the most kind, caring and genuine nice guys in our sport and he
will be sorely missed in the NARC/Golden State community. Over the
years, he has worked with Andy Forsberg, Jimmy Sills, Steve Kent, Jim
Skinner (Helped him get his start), Bryan Bullard, Korey Lovell, Kevin
Lovell, Eric Rossi, Darrell Hanestad, Kevin Pylant, Shane Scott, Daryn
Pittman (WoO Cali swings), Peter Murphy, Glen Boune, and more.
He passed away on Friday,
June 4, 2004, at the age of 61. He was a longtime resident of Hayward
before moving to Livermore. Husband of 41 years to Mary Carrier, son
of Lila M. and the departed Donald Carrier, father of Lisa Carrier,
Yolanda Maciorski and Alesia Reyes, father-in-law of Stephen Maciorski,
grandfather of Ryan Maciorski, godfather of Ruben Zavala, Livermore
and Monica Albarico, Hayward. Survived by sisters-in-law, Judy Hall,
Livermore, Madeline Zavala, Hayward, Connie Albarico, Hayward, Roberta
Chew, Hayward, Irene Moniz, Union City, brothers-in-law, John Moniz,
Hayward, Ray Chew, Hayward and the late Frank Moniz. He is survived by
many first and second-generation nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also a
manager/coach of the women's fast pitch softball team the ERA's in
Hayward for over 15 years. He loved to go boating, water-skiing and
was an avid San Francisco Giants and Blues music fan.In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the
American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
