- "The Gasman" Richard Griffin wins his first SCRA
Championship, driving Ron Chaffin's #50 Ellis.
- Griffin's title run was settled on the next to the last race of
the season. It was the first time in club history that the title
was not decided on the last night of action.
- Ron Chaffin claims his 4th straight Car Owners title.
- "Flash" Jordan Hermansader wins Rookie of the Year
honors.
- Mike Kirby, who finished second in points, won 11 features on
the year.
- "The Ripper" Rip Williams won 7 main events in Sharon
Jory's #3 Stinger.
- Cory Kruseman won 6 features in Harlan Willis' #45 Okie.
- J.J. Yeley won the season opener at Manzanita Speedway. He swept
both nights at Manzanita.
- Mike Kirby won at El Centro in Anne & Billy Wilkerson's #6
Sprinter.
- Jay Drake won his first Sprint Car feature, coming at Perris
Auto Speedway on March 14th, driving the Fischer Motorsports #29.
- Richard Griffin won at SCRA's first visit to the Tulare
Thunderbowl Raceway.
- Mike Boat gave car Owners Tom & Laurie Sertich their first
main event victory at Manzanita Speedway on July 11th.
- Troy Cline won 2 features at Perris in his #11 Meli.
- Tony Jones won at the first night of the PAS Oval
Nationals.
- Rodney Argo won the PAS Oval Nationals on September 27th.
- Marc Hart won the Wagsdash at Ventura Raceway on September 14th.
- Richard Griffin won the October 10th event at Bullhead City's
Mohave Valley Raceway.
- Cory Kruseman won the Jack Kindoll Classic at Perris on November
21st.
- Veteran racer Bob Meli passes away after battling brain cancer.
- 8 different drivers won main events.
