CHALLENGE CUP SPRINT CARS: HEAT
RACE 1: FEATURE: The Challenge Cup Sprints are always a crowd pleaser and their first race of the year was no exception.
8 cars were posted to start the feature but Bugs Norbury who drew the pole position had to scratch with mechanical problems. So 7 machines took on the 20 lap challenge. Art Mankel III looked real strong as he led the first five circuits. With five down the red flew as Dan Bauman flipped his mount into the turn four wall. He as uninjured and after the clean up they restarted. Mankel could not hold off Tim Beal and the next lap Beal took the point. Mankel charged at Beal all the remaining laps but Beal was to strong and took the win. Second to Mankel ahead of John Brinkley. Ryan Murphy and Bryan Swinehart. The heat went to Chris Beal. The Sprints trophies were sponsored by Beals Automotive. |
