POINTS STANDINGS - 6/5 Chris Webber suffered mechanical problems in his heat race which kept him from running in the trophy dash for the first time this season, and caused him to start last in the feature event. But that little inconvenience didn't stop him from charging to the front and doing battle with leader Adam Schroer. Webber ran the top groove and took the lead on the 14th circuit; Schroer fought hard and regained the lead on the 19th lap, but Chris edged Adam out by a nose at the start/finish line, claiming another victory in his #40 Wix Filters non-winged Sprint Car. Schroer took a wild ride during the Fair race on Friday, May 21st, but had his machine back in top condition, claiming the trophy dash victory for the Sprints. Ed Butterfield, Tony Richards and defending track champion Josh Jacobo completed the top five positions. Saturday, June 12th will be KHSL Radio Night at the Races. Grandstands open at 5:00 and racing begins at 7:00 PM for all five regular divisions plus the Hornets. |
