POINTS STANDINGS - 5/8 Butterfield Takes the Sprint Car Feature, On Mother's Day In a special Salute to Moms, Longs Drugs of Orland provided beautiful carnations to the first 100 Moms in the grandstands at Orland Raceway on Saturday, May 8th. Then Moms and Dads alike were treated to a great night of racing under beautiful skies. In an action-packed Sprint Car feature, Ed Butterfield of Oroville started on the pole and after his heat race victory he appeared determined to hold that position, despite several yellow flag conditions. When the checkered flag was unfurled Butterfield was the victor for his first main event win in his #86 non-winged Wix Filters Sprint car. Butterfield is a former track champion in the Mini Stock division at Orland Raceway. Tony Richards of Paradise finished in second for the division, followed by defending track champion Josh Jacobo, current points leader Billy Garcia and Rob Worthington. Adam Schroer drove his #29 Wix Filters sprinter to a trophy dash win.
