TULSA, Okla. (September 21, 2005) – The relentless action
of non-wing 410-ci Sprint Car racing makes a long-awaited return to
East Bay Raceway Park for the 2006 Winter Nationals as the
O’Reilly Sprint Bandits Tour ‘N Topless series takes to the
1/3-mile, semi-banked dirt oval on January 30, January 31 and
February 1.
The three night event, which offers $10,000 to Wednesday night,
February 1, winner, will be the second leg of the Fast Lane Apparel
Triple Crown Challenge.
“The non-wing O’Reilly Sprint Bandits TNT sprint cars are
going to add a lot of excitement to our full week of Sprint Car
racing,” commented track president Al Varnadore. “Wingless
sprints haven’t run at East Bay since probably the early ‘80s,
so this is going to generate a lot of excitement.”
In addition to the three-night event at East Bay Raceway Park, it
is expected that the O’Reilly Sprint Bandits TNT six-event August
swing will return in 2006 as well.
The middle portion of nine nights of racing at East Bay Raceway
Park, the O’Reilly Sprint Bandits Tour ‘n Topless series will
follow on the heels of the ASCS on Tour’s “King of the
360’s”, which runs January 26-28. After kicking up the clay in
topless fashion on January 30, January 31 and February 1, winged
410-ci sprints wrap up the week on February 2-4.
With the Fast Lane Apparel Triple Crown Challenge in effect, any
driver that can capture two of the three portions of East Bay’s
Winter Nationals will earn a $5,000 bonus. If a driver can top the
final night of all three portions, it will be worth another $50,000.
