TULSA, Okla. (January 26, 2005) – The O’Reilly Sprint
Bandits live on, as the Sprint Bandits are Tour ‘N Topless through
Nebraska, Oklahoma and Kansas this August 15-20, following on the
heels of the Knoxville Nationals.
The Sprint Bandits “TNT” swing will feature the nation’s top
wingless Sprint Car drivers battling it out in five events over the
course of six nights through the nation’s heartland, with the tour
culminating with the annual $10,000-to-win clash at Kansas City’s
Lakeside Speedway.
Sprint Bandits “TNT” will kick off on Monday night, August 15,
atop the high-speed, 4/10-mile Nebraska Raceway Park clay oval. From
there, the wingless warriors move on to Oklahoma City’s 3/8-mile
State Fair Speedway on Wednesday night, August 17, before traveling
up the interstate to Tulsa Speedway on Thursday night, August 18.
The explosive week of racing will conclude with the Friday-Saturday
doubleheader at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS, with a $10,000
payday up for grabs to the winner of the Saturday night, August 20,
main event. Warsaw, MO, native Jesse Hockett reigns as two-time and
defending champion of the prestigious annual Lakeside Speedway
event.
The events at Nebraska Raceway Park, State Fair Speedway and Tulsa
Speedway will each pay $4,000 to win.
The O’Reilly Sprint Bandits engine rules, including the series
head and sleeved-down open engines, will be waived for the Topless
Thunder Tour. Open 410-ci powerplants will be allowed. There will be
a 1,200 pound minimum weight rule in effect.
