MAY 7, 2009 --- Round seven of the West Coast 360 Sprint Car series will be held this Saturday night, May 9th, at Scott Schweitzer's Bakersfield Speedway.
Series point leader Peter Murphy will look to put more distance between himself and the competition at Bakersfield. Murphy, who scored last Saturday night's win at the Santa Maria Speedway, was also victorious at Hanford's Kings Speedway on March 28th.
Bakersfield's Rusty Carlile, who sits second in series points, would like to score his first victory of the season in front of his hometown fans. The veteran driver had a podium finish at Hanford on April 18th.
Kerman's Davey Pombo won the 360 Grand Slam Sprint Car feature at the Bakersfield oval on April 25th.
Still seeking that elusive first 2009 win are top contenders Aaron Altaffer, Michael Faccinto, Wes Gutierrez, Justyne Hamblin, Ricky Kirkbride, Jared Little, Jonathan Logan, T.J. Smith, and others.
Don't forget, the West Coast Sprint Cars welcome all ASCS headed NON-GASKET competitors. If you don't have the ASCS heads you MUST run the gasket.
Bakersfield Speedway is located at 5001 North Chester Extension in Bakersfield, California. For more event information, please visit www.bakersfieldspeedway.com.
