Santa Maria, CA 5-20-09...*Saturday night's 19th Annual Don Roberts Memorial features West Coast 360 Sprint Cars, the East vs. West Super Street Shootout, and MMI Factory Stocks.
*Peter Murphy, of Clovis, leads Rusty Carlile, of Bakersfield, by 39 points and Michael Faccinto, of Hanford, by 40, in the 360 Sprint Car championship race. Hanford's Jared Little is 53 points out of first and Livermore's Rick Eberhardt trails the leader by 70.
*The East vs. West championship is led by defending champ Tim Randolph, of Santa Maria, in fact all three of Saturday night's point leaders are defending champions. Behind Randolph are three Bakersfield drivers: Lonnie Welch, just 9 markers back, Nick Sylvester, at minus 34, and Brian Shepherd at minus 45. Toby Randolph, of Santa Maria, is 66 points behind his brother in fifth.
*Santa Maria's Kirk Morgan is only 1 point ahead of Arroyo Grande's Dale Sylvester after Sylvester's first career feature victory May 2. Matt Marchiando, of Goleta, is 9 points off the pace followed by two Santa Maria drivers, Tim Bennett and Pete Lethcoe. Bennett trails Marchiando by 1 point and Lethcoe is another 5 markers behind Bennett.
* Saturday night's spectator gates will open at 3:00 p.m., with qualifying at 5:00 p.m. and racing at 6:00 p.m. Admission prices will be: $14.00 for adults, $12.00 for seniors & military, $5.00 for children 6 to 12, five and under free. The Speedway is located 1/4-mile north of the 101/166 interchange on Hutton Road.
