More NWWT drivers at the Grove Classic

APRIL 25, 2009 --- A new era in non-wing sprint car racing in the Pacific Northwest will begin tonight when the NorthWest Wingless Tour opens its inaugural season with the Grove Classic at Cottage Grove Speedway.
A press release with some brief bios of drivers who are expected to compete tonight and throughout the season with the NWWT was released. Here are a few more bios of some NWWT sprint car racers.

14 Mike Morris
Gladstone, Oregon
Owner: Ron Brown
Motor: Chevy
Chassis: J&J
Sponsors include: Competition Motorsports
Mike Morris will race sprint cars for the first time this season and will join father Keary on the NWWT circuit. Morris is already an accomplished midget racer and won the Salem Indoor title this past winter.

64 - Mark Nichols
Eagle Creek, Oregon

Motor: T-Mac
Chassis: Rocket

Mark Nichols is relatively new to sprint cars but has raced just about everyting else over the years, including three-wheelers, Pro-4 modifieds and even monster trucks. He is also a former national karting champion.

At just 14 years of age, Nick Tomlinson is one of the youngest drivers in sprint car racing, and he already has a couple of years with a limited number of races under his belt.

Keary Morris is longtime sprint car veteran who has raced with and without the wings, running both 410's and 360's with a lot of time in California, and even raced some midgets. He is a former Sprint 100 titlelist in California and in 2007 he won the USCA sprint car championship.

Today is the big day for the NorthWest Wingless Tour. These drivers and many more will compete the first NorthWest Wingless Tour championship, beginning with tonight's Grove Classic event.
The pit gate at Cottage Grove Speedway opens at 3:00 with spectator gates opening at 4:00. Qualifying is scheduled for 5:30, followed by racing around 6:45. More information on the NorthWest Wingless Tour can be found online at http://www.nwwingless.com.
