SWANSON CONTINUES TO LEAD WESTERN SPRINT STANDINGS;
HELBERG TAKES 50-LAP SPRINT AT TRACY

SEPTEMBER 29, 2008 --- Tanner Swanson of Kingsburg, Calif. will lead the USAC Western Sprint Car Series to Madera (Calif.) Speedway October 25, holding a commanding 123-point margin over runner-up JoJo Helberg in the latest standings.
Helberg, of Rohnert Park, Calif., won Saturday’s 50-lap USAC Western Sprint race at Altamont Motorsports Park in his ADTS Hansen/Chevy, leading the final 38 laps after passing Tim Skoglund on lap 13.
Swanson finished second ahead of Porter Smith, Audra Sasselli and Kody Swanson. Skoglund led the first 12 laps but finished seventh. Helberg was also the fastest qualifier.
Kody Swanson and Tony Hunt accounted for the victories in last year’s Western Sprint races at Madera, Hunt winning twice.
