VENTURA, Calif. (July 8, 2008) – It’s a night Ventura Raceway fans and racers have pointed at all season long. It will be one of the biggest events in the track’s 31-year history.
It’s July 12, 2008 and it’s less than a week away.
Ventura Raceway’s July to Remember promotion begins Saturday with three special events, some aimed at fans and one aimed at the track’s sprint car racers: Some fans get in for free. Two lucky fans will leave with money. And one skillful driver will overcome a challenging field of competition to score a victory worth $2,000.
Kids aged 12 and under will be admitted free for the track’s events in July. This promotion is part of Raceway Promoter Jim Naylor’s goal to make the family-oriented facility the logical entertainment choice this summer.
Two fans will split $500 as part of the VRAfan.com New Fan Challenge. Any fan of the track that brings a first-time fan can register the pair at the gate for the special drawing that will be held immediately before the night’s feature event.
The feature event of the evening will be round two of the All Coast Construction 3-2-1 Challenge. The special series-within-a-season carried a special point fund as well as added money for the top finishers. Kevin Kierce won the first race of the series.
