VENTURA, Calif. (June 18, 2008) -- Children the world ‘round have been told by their older, wiser parents that nothing in the world is free. Most of the time that is true, but not in the month of July and not at Ventura Raceway.
Ventura Raceway, The Best Little Dirt Track in America, will allow free admission to kids aged 12 and under all through the month of July, part of the track’s A July To Remember promotion.
“Ventura Raceway has always been intended to be a family destination,” said Raceway promoter Jim Naylor. “This offer helps families find an affordable alternative to sitting at home all weekend during the summer.”
The month of July includes a special event, the July 12 All Coast Construction 3-2-1 Challenge, the special race for the Ventura Racing Association’s Sprint Car class. On that same night, some lucky new fan and a sponsoring fan that has attended races at the track before will split $500 as part of the vrafan.com New Fan Challenge.
“Our fans have been loyal through the years, from generation to generation,” Naylor said. “A lot of the parents bringing their kids to the track now first came here with their parents. We want the tradition to continue and this offer is a way to keep families coming.”
All of the Raceway’s weekly divisions are scheduled in July. That includes the crowd-pleasing sprint cars, senior sprint cars, IMCA Modifieds, Sport Compacts, dwarf cars and youth divisions.
