VENTURA, Calif. (June 17, 2008) – Ventura Raceway announced today a series of promotions aimed at providing extra excitement, not to mention the potential for financial gain, for its fans.
The promotions, collectively named A July To Remember, are headlined by the vrafan.com New Fan Challenge on July 12.
“This is going to be A July to Remember for the fans,” said Raceway promoter Jim Naylor. “We have them in mind constantly because we love their loyalty. We’ll put our fans in position to benefit from their love of racing.”
The fans will directly benefit from the vrafan.com New Fan Challenge, which will award $500 to a lucky new fan and their sponsor.
Under the rules of the New Fan Challenge, a race fan attending his or her first race at Ventura and their sponsor must register at the front gate as a team. Both fans must be 13 years or older and must purchase a ticket. A sponsor, someone who has attended races at Ventura in the past, can register separately with as many new fans as they can bring in.
A drawing will be held immediately before the featured event of the night, the All Coast Construction 3-2-1 Challenge race for the Ventura Racing Association sprint cars and the lucky pair will be awarded $250 each.
The 3-2-1 Challenge, a special series of three races for sprint cars at Ventura, would be a significant draw by itself. Each race in the series pays extra money to the top finishers and the winner of the special points system also wins extra money after the third race.
“The New Fan Challenge will be one of the biggest events of the summer,” Naylor said. “It will be a first in the 31-year history of the race track, the largest prize we’ve ever offered new fans.”
