JUNE 23, 2008 --- Joey Fabozzi of Norco, Calif. and David Cardey of Riverside, Calif. earned maximum points toward 2008 Earl’s Fast Qualifier Championships by pacing qualifications at Bakersfield, Calif. and Perris, Calif. respectively. Earl’s points are available this week in races at Richmond, Va. (K & N Silver Crown and National Sprint) and Tracy, Calif. (Western Sprint and Midget).
Fabozzi was the fastest qualifier in the Western Midgets at Bakersfield Saturday and ranks fifth behind leader Scott Pierovich in the new Earl’s points for that series. In the Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprints, Cardey was the fast qualifier at Perris, Calif. Saturday, while Mike Spencer continues to lead that series’ Earl’s standings.
Jon Stanbrough (K & N Silver Crown), Tracy Hines (National Sprint) and Tanner Swanson (Western Sprint) also lead Earl’s standings going into this week’s action.
