JUNE 18, 2008 --- Thanks to Delphi and Toyota Trucks the United States Auto Club will field a team of Delphi Safety Squad vehicles at USAC National racing events in 2008, with future expansion slated for the USAC Western and USAC/CRA racing series.
This investment in safety for USAC participants is the latest in a series of evolutionary changes occurring daily at USAC and one which will enhance track safety at venues across America.
USAC’s continuing commitment to safety as job #1 has resulted in this program which has added assistance from Holmatro-USA rescue tools and extrication equipment and Whelen Engineering warning and signaling devices.
The new Safety Squad vehicles, sporting a unique racing themed design, are equipped with fire-fighting apparatus, jaws of life and other tools and are expected to follow the National tour events throughout the 2008 racing season.
“We recognize the importance safety plays in our sport and are dedicated to maintaining our position as an industry leader, said USAC President/CEO Kevin Miller”
