BURDETT CONTINUES ROCKY MOUNTAIN TITLE SEARCH
|
JUNE 16, 2008 --- Ryan Burdett of West Jordan, Utah knows what it’s like to win the USAC/SLVRA Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Championship. He did it last year, winning twice at the 3/8-mile paved oval. He’s already won twice this year, in just three outings, and finds himself again atop the standings going into this Saturday night’s events.
Burdett holds a slim three-point lead over JoJo Helberg of Rohnert Park, Calif., who also has a victory this year as well as a second and a third. Helberg is the only driver to end up on the “podium” in all three 2008 races.
Jeff Bergener and Eric Pardee, third and fourth in the current standings, are the only other drivers with “top-10” finishes in all three races this year.
A 40-lap feature caps Saturday night’s program, which also includes USAC’s Auto Trader Ford Focus Developmental Series.
