ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPRINTS RETURN TO RMR JUNE 21; |

JUNE 9, 2008 --- Defending USAC Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Champion Ryan Burdett of West Jordan, Utah will lead the series back to Rocky Mountain Raceways June 21 following his victory in Saturday night’s 40-lap feature. Burdett returned to victory lane, leading the final 14 laps to win over JoJo Helberg, Jeff Bergener, Eric Pardee and Mike Straub. The win left him three points ahead of Helberg, who led the points entering Saturday night’s race. Burdett passed former series champ Jimmy Waters on lap 27 and led the rest of the way. Waters was the fastest qualifier but eventually finished 10th in the race. Helberg led the first 12 laps. Burdett has won two of the three 2008 Rocky Mountain features in his bid to repeat the title he won last year.
