Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (July 24, 2008) – In little more than two weeks,
the nation's top wingless Sprint Car drivers will once again descend upon the
nation's mid-section for the Fourth Annual O'Reilly Sprint Bandits Tour 'N
Topless Midwest Swing.
This year's edition of Sprint Bandits TNT will pit the best of the Midwest
against the best of the West on five neutral tracks in Missouri, Nebraska,
Oklahoma and Kansas for six nights of racing from August 11 to August 16.
TNT 2008 fires to life on Monday night, August 11, at "The Diamond of
Dirt Tracks", Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO, for Show-Me State
wingless bragging rights.
Then on Tuesday night, August 12, it's on to Nebraska Raceway Park's I-80
Speedway for the track's annual Huskerland Non-Wing Nationals in Greenwood.
A pair of Sooner state ovals are next on the docket, with Oklahoma City's
State Fair Speedway hosting the wingless warriors on Wednesday night, August 13.
Then on Thursday night, some authentic bullring Sprint Bandits TNT action is in
store with the series taking to Creek County Speedway near Tulsa.
After four nights of $4,000-to-win feature events, the wild week of racing
wraps up with two nights of action at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS, on
August 15-16, with the prestigious Saturday night finale offering up a $10,000
winner's share.
A $10,000 point fund to be distributed among the week's top ten point earners
will be in effect as well.
California natives Robert Ballou and Tim Kaeding reign as defending O'Reilly
Sprint Bandits TNT Midwest Swing co-champions after tying for top honors in
2007. Missouri's Jesse Hockett was the 2006 TNT king, while Illinois shoe Levi
Jones captured the inaugural TNT championship in 2005.
The semi-banked, 3/8-mile Lucas Oil Speedway is located in Wheatland, MO, 0.2
