PLACERVILLE, CA – The winged sprint cars will be competing out of town but that’s no reason to stay away from Placerville Speedway this Saturday night as an action packed racing program will bring four divisions, three of them wingless, to the quarter mile clay oval located on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds.
While the Placerville Speedway Pure Stocks will continue their quest for the 2008 New Car Dealers of El Dorado County, Coors Light, Coca Cola championship season they will be joined by three guest divisions for a big night of open wheel racing.
Topping the list of divisions will be the wingless midgets of the Bay Cities Racing Association as they make their second appearance of the year at Placerville. The tradition midgets will be joined by their sister division, the midget lites which will also be competing in topless fashion for the night, adding a great deal of adversity to each and every driver and making the event a “drivers” race as man must master machine without the assistance of a top wing.
Rounding out the night of competition will be the wingless sprint cars of the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Car Series. Look for these full sized wingless warriors to light up the track surface with their wheel to wheel racing action which, much like the midgets, will test man against man against machine.
The grandstands at Placerville Speedway will open at 5 p.m. Saturday night with time trials beginning at 6:30 followed by racing at 7. Adult tickets will be $12, juniors and seniors will be $10 and children will be $5. Under six will be admitted for free.
