Peter Murphy and Tommy Tarlton Have Strong Weekend!
By Gary Costa

Fresno, CA – April 22, 2008…The Tom Tarlton owned Sprint cars had another fantastic showing this past weekend as they showed not only speed, but diversity in their racing program.

Peter Murphy wheeled the Tarlton & Son, Inc #21 non-wing Maxim Sprint car in Bandit competition at Santa Maria Speedway while Tommy Tarlton ran under the wing, in a twin #21, running in back-to-back events.

"Double-T" proceeded to set a NTR of 11.786 at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, during the Wright One Construction 360 winged Sprint car series. When race time rolled around, Tommy again showed strength by transferring out of his heat race. Then in main event action, he finished a strong 5th.

The next day, Team Tarlton was headed in two different directions and racing in two entirely different disciplines. Tommy picked up where he left off the previous evening in Watsonville. He again showed speed displayed from the previous night's action and won the inaugural "National Winged 360" Sprint car opener at Kings Speedway.

The non-wing portion of Team Tarlton was headed to Santa Maria to race with the Bandit Sprint cars. Peter would take the non-wing car to quick time. Murphy circled the speedway in the Tarlton & Son, Inc., Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino, Kaeding Performance, Ridgeline Framing, Sharp Insurance, VMAC, BR Motorsports, Fresno First Bank, Pro Signs, #21 Maxim at 13.581.

Peter is on fire as he is coming off of two strait victories. The most recent was last weekend at the Bandit/VRA Grand Slam series race at Kings Speedway.
Murphy finished 2nd in his heat race and was ready to do battle in the main event. The main event became a true test of will for Peter as a lap-1 tangle sent him to the rear of the field. Peter did a excellent job and brought the wounded car to a 3rd place finish.

"We had a really good run," Peter reflected after the race. "We were very lucky that we didn't go over on the first lap. It was nobody's fault, just a racing deal," Murphy continued, "We had a short crew, but things turned out okay. Tommy also had a great run this weekend, so it was a good weekend for Team Tarlton."

Up Next!
This weekend you can catch the always racy and versatile, Peter Murphy pulling double-duty. We will head to Kings Speedway in Hanford, this Friday where Pete will be in the Tarlton non-wing #21 to race with the Bandit Sprint cars.

We will then travel up the road to the "Thunderbowl" in Tulare and race with the Golden State Challenge winged 410 Sprint cars in the Eberhardt Motorsports #4.
Tommy will also be at Tulare in the potent Tarlton Motorsports #21 seeking a Golden State Challenge Win.

Be sure to come by after the races and introduce yourself!
