Cory Smith edges out a win at Waynesfield |

AUGUST 16, 2008 --- With 2 races left on the MTS schedule this weekends stop was
at the Waynesfield Motorsports Park far the last leg of the North vs South
Non-wing battle. 30 sprinters would sign in for the event with Sprinters from
Ohio, Indiana ,Michigan and Canada.
At the start of the amain after cars started sorting out it was Corey Smith
who seemed to find his rhythm and pulled away from the pack. Matt Westfall
worked his way into the runner up spot and slowly began to real in Smith. Late
in the race with 2 laps to go Aaron McFadden flipped violently in turn number 1
but emerged from the wreck without serious injury. When the green waived again
it was a 2 lap dash to the checkers. When the flagman waved the white flag over
the field, Westfall was glued to the rear bumper of Smith. The cars raced into
the final turns side by side as the fans rose to their feat in excitement. Smith
beat Westfall to the finish line by 18 inches and the fans cheered as the two
front finishers took an extra victory lap side by side. Mark Clark finished 3rd.
