Kruseman Cars @
Home, Don't Meet Victorville Rule
|
Ventura, CA (April 15, 2008) - Cory Kruseman announced today that his Kruseman Motorsports team will bypass this Saturday's open competition sprint car event in Victorville, opting instead to compete at Ventura Raceway with the VRA 360s. Development drivers Austin Mero and Henry Clarke, who normally compete with the USAC/CRA sprint cars, will polish their skills in the highly competitive VRA series.
Kruseman had intended to run three cars in Victorville, until officials promoting the race confirmed late Monday afternoon that they would abide by their published knerf bar rule. The rule requires all cars to utilize a two tube design commonly found on winged sprint cars. The overwhelming majority of non-wing cars, including Kruseman's Viper chassis utilize a three tube design. "I was very surprised to learn of the knerf bar rule, 95% of the cars are going to have to change to comply" stated Kruseman. "I wanted to support what they had going on over there, they changed a few rules from what we normally run which I understood, but I just can't see the reasoning behind this rule. I'm guessing a few other car owners might see it the same".
