JULY 14, 2008 --- Battles for 2008 Earl’s Fast Qualifier Championships in four USAC racing series continue this week with events on tap at Boswell, Bloomington and Haubstadt, Ind. (National Sprints), Tracy, Calif. (Western Sprints and Midgets) and Perris, Calif. (CRA Sprints).
Tracy Hines of New Castle, Ind. and Nic Faas of Huntington Beach, Calif. emerged as leaders in two Earl’s Fast Qualifier point tables after performances in last week’s USAC events,
Hines had a second, third and sixth in National Sprint qualifying and has a nine-point lead over Levi Jones in that series’ Earl’s standings going into this week’s races. Jones, Dave Darland, Scotty Weir and Brad Sweet paced last week’s National Sprint qualifying sessions.
Faas is two points ahead of Scott Pierovich in the Western Midget Earl’s standings after posting second fast time behind female driver Shannon McQueen at Santa Maria, Calif. last Saturday.
