“HOT AUGUST 70s NIGHT” SATURDAY AT THE PAS; |

AUGUST 18, 2008 --- Mike Spencer continues to ride the crest of the Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car standings, 92 ahead of Garrett Hansen entering this Saturday night’s “Hot August 70s Night” race at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway. Anyone born in the 1970s will be admitted for $5.00. Spencer finished third behind runner-up Hansen in last Saturday night’s race at Santa Maria (Calif.) Speedway won by Nic Faas. Faas, of Huntington Beach, Calif., earned his initial Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car feature victory at Santa Maria. Faas led all 30 laps in his Simpson/Advanced Racing Suspensions Maxim/Chevy to beat Hansen, Spencer, David Cardey and Rip Williams to the checkered flag. Jimmy Crawford was Saturday’s fastest qualifier. The 11 races conducted so far this season at Perris have produced six different winners. Cory Kruseman and Danny Sheridan have each won three, while Hansen has won two. Single winners have been Spencer, Johnny Rodriguez and Rickie Gaunt.
