Sherman Supplies Saturday Fireworks with ASCS Canyon Win! |

Lonnie Wheatley, PHOENIX, Ariz. (October 25, 2008) – Closing in on a second consecutive Discount Tire Co. American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region championship, Jeremy Sherman picked off his 14th series feature win of the season in Saturday night's 30-lap feature atop Manzanita Speedway's 1/3-mile clay oval. After winning his heat race, Sherman advanced from the fourth starting position to take the win on Family Fireworks Night aboard Fred Bryan's Wesmar-powered F&E Development No. 77. Sherman was chased to the line by Nathan High, with Mike Leslie racing from eighth to take the show position. R.J. Johnson raced from 13th to claim fourth, with Andrew Reinbold rounding out the top five. Mike Martin climbed from 15th to sixth, with Charles Davis, Jr., Casey Shuman, pole starter Michael Colegrove and 24th-starter Chris Bonneau completing the top ten. High added another Trophy Dash win, with Colegrove, Bobby Taylor, Sherman and Reinbold victorious in heat race action. Brandon Lane won the "B" Main. Sherman carries a 154-point lead over Charles Davis, Jr., into the $3,000-to-win ASCS Non-Wing Western World Championship, which is set to take place atop Manzanita Speedway's 1/3-mile clay oval on November 6-8.
