Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (January 24, 2008) – Gearing up for its second year of non-wing Sprint Car competition, the American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region will join forces with Discount Tire Company for the 2008 season.
Discount Tire Company, the world's largest independent tire and wheel retailer, has signed on to be the title sponsor of the explosive ASCS Canyon Region in 2008.

The Discount Tire Co. ASCS Canyon Region sanctions wingless Sprint Car racing in the state of Arizona. With a bulk of the series approximately 30 events at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, the series also makes visits to Tucson's USA Race Park and Casa Grande's Central Arizona Raceway.
Jeremy Sherman of Surprise, AZ, is the series reigning champion after winning 12 of 20 feature events in 2007 as the ASCS Canyon Region averaged nearly 30 competitors per event.

The Discount Tire Co. ASCS Canyon Region is the Arizona-based wingless Region of the American Sprint Car Series, the nation's most prevalent Sprint Car sanctioning body. With 14 Regions in addition to the ASCS National Tour, the ASCS will sanction approximately 250 nights of racing at nearly 100 different tracks throughout the United States and Canada in 2008.
