JULY 16, 2007 --- Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah hosts
Saturday’s “shootout” between Lucas Oil USAC Western Sprint Car point
leaders Ryan Kaplan and Tony Hunt, while Ryan Burdette will try to maintain his
lead in the USAC/SLVRA Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series.
Kaplan and Hunt enter Saturday’s race separated by just two points, while
Burdett holds a 39-point edge over Jim Campbell.
Hunt finished second and Kaplan 10th in Saturday’s Lucas Oil Western Sprint
race at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy, Calif. Tanner Swanson of Kingsburg,
Calif. won Saturday’s 50-lap USAC/CASA Altamont feature in his Keith Williams
Eagle/Chevy, beating Hunt, Greg Anderson, JoJo Helberg and Nick Green. Green led
the first 25 laps and Swanson led the final 25.
Burdette is the only driver to repeat as a feature winner this year at RMR.
Kody Swanson, Anderson and Jim Waters have also won there.
