May 28, 2007---- Ryan Kaplan of Chico, Calif. earned his first Lucas Oil USAC Western Sprint Car feature victory Saturday night at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. The win puts him atop the series standings going into a June 16 race at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy, Calif.
The Tracy program, named “Open Wheel Madness Night,” features stars of USAC and CASA Sprint cars and a battle for the USAC point lead between five drivers separated by only 20 points.
Kaplan passed JoJo Helberg on the 27th lap at Roseville and led the final 24 laps of the USAC/CASA race to beat Helberg, Laura Hayes, Tanner Swanson, Shauna Hogg and Tanner Swanson, Three-time USAC Silver Crown Champ Jimmy Sills, making a rare USAC start, finished sixth.
Hayes led the first 12 laps and Helberg led the next 14 before Kaplan took over.
