January 22, 2007----Saturday night’s USAC Western Awards Banquet in Arcadia, Calif. will showcase champions of USAC’s 2006 Western racing series. The event takes place in the Ballroom of the Embassy Suites Hotel.
Champion drivers to be honored include Tony Hunt of Lincoln, Calif. (Western Sprint), Cory Kruseman of Ventura, Calif. (CRA Sprint), Jerome Rodela of El Monte, Calif. (Western Midget), Tim Skoglund of Fresno, Calif. (California Pavement Ford Focus), Bobby Michnowicz of Torrance, Calif. (California Dirt Ford Focus) and Jimmy Wysong of Salt Lake City, Utah (Rocky Mountain Sprint).
Champion car owners include Alan Kaiser of Vallejo, Calif. (Western Sprint), Glenn Crossno of Alta Loma, Calif. (CRA Sprint), Rodela (Western Midget), Western Speed Racing of Fresno, Calif. (California Paved Ford Focus), Howard Veach of Livermore, Calif. (California Dirt Ford Focus) and Wysong.
Other distinctive awards will be presented to recipients in various Western series, including the prestigious Roger McCluskey Award, announced at last Friday’s USAC “Champions Night” Awards Banquet, to Parnelli Jones.
