Information post for this weekend's event at Santa Maria.
I spoke with Dave Swindell, Santa Maria promoter, yesterday and he told me that
the pits will open at 1:00pm on Saturday. Pit prices will be $35.00 for
Competitors or members of VRA or Bandits. General pit passes will be $45.00 for
non-members and general public pit passes. Be sure to bring you membership cards
to show if they request.
Some More General Information:
1. Remember you MUST have ASCS Gaskets, VRA 180 Mufflers, Hoosier RC3 or VRA
right rear, RC1 or harder left rear. D12's are ok, but RD12's are not as they
are softer than the RC1 per my discussion with Hoosier.
2. The approved Gaskets, Mufflers and tires are required, so if you show up
without them you will have to purchase them that day, if available, and put them
on. No exceptions, as these rules have been out for over several months, so do
not plead ignorance of the rules.
3. Fuel and tires will be available at the track.
4. Remember the weight rule of 1500lbs with driver at the end of the night's
racing. We will have scales to weigh the top finishing cars that night.
5. The Format for the night will be posted at the track on Saturday. It will
include warm-ups, qualifying, A last chance race depending on final car count,
heat races, two semi mains and a 22 car 30 lap feature.
6. There is no race entry fee for this event other than pit pass entry fee as
listed above.
7. This is race two of four. The next race in the series will be at Santa Maria
on October 13 and the final race will be October 27 at Ventura Raceway.
8. We will discuss these items and any other issues at the driver's meeting on
Saturday.
