APRIL 12, 2007...Lucas Oil Products, whose additives have made it a
top-selling line in the American truck stop industry and one of the fastest
growing additive lines in the consumer automotive industry, will serve as the
presenting sponsor for USAC’s National, Western and CRA Sprint Car Series in
2007. The announcement coincided with today’s announcement of USAC’s 2007
television schedule, which includes a half-dozen events spread across several
racing series.
Utilizing their own production facilities, Lucas Oil will serve as the
presenting sponsor for six televised USAC racing events in 2007, beginning with
Saturday night’s Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car race at the Perris (Calif.)
Auto Speedway. Perris has served as the cornerstone for the USAC/CRA series
since its inception in 2004.
Additional events are expected to include the Perris Oval Nationals Sprint
race in November, plus the USAC Silver Crown Championship race presented by K
& N Enginering at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill. on July 13 and the
“Turkey Night Grand Prix” Sprint, Midget and Ford Focus races at Irwindale
(Calif.) Speedway on Nov. 22.
Lucas has long been involved in the American racing industry through multiple
vehicle sponsorships and racing event promotions at all levels. The need for
better lubricants in this industry led to Lucas developing a line of
high-performance engine and gear oils.
“I’m thrilled to be able to announce this association with Lucas Oil,”
said USAC President/CEO Rollie Helmling. “Forrest and Charlotte Lucas have
embraced the racing industry with their company and we are proud to be part of
their family in 2007. It’s pleasing to be able to involve various racing
series in our television commitment and we hope this becomes a lasting
relationship beneficial to all.”
Rob Klepper, whose announcing talents have complemented USAC events in recent
years, will be part of the broadcast team for the “Lucas Oil Motorsports
Hour” programs, which will be available for viewing at a later date on the
Versus Cable Channel, which serves over 70 million households. Air dates and
times can be accessed on the USAC website, www.usacracing.com, the Lucas Oil
website, www.lucasoil.com, or on the Versus website, www.versus.com or in your
local cable listings.
