JUNE 11, 2007 --- Ryan Burdett will take an 11-point lead into the June 23 USAC/SLVRA Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car event at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah. Burdett finished sixth in last Saturday’s race at the 3/8-mile paved oval.
Burdett’s lead over runner-up Greg Anderson slipped last weekend as Anderson piloted his Ted Finkenbinder machine to victory on Saturday night’s 40-lap feature at RMR. Anderson, of Sacramento, Calif., snatched the lead from Jeff Bergener on the white-flag lap and led the remaining two laps for the win. Bergener took second ahead of Rick Pardee, Jim Campbell and Paul Marconi.
Bergener led the first 19 laps of Saturday’s race before yielding to former two-time series champ Jim Waters. Waters led through lap 33 when Bergener regained the lead.
