April 30, 2007---- Kody Swanson of Kingsburg, Calif. will lead the Lucas
Oil Western Sprint Car Series to the All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif.
May 26, holding a 17-point lead over defending series titlist Tony Hunt after
winning Saturday’s 40-lapper at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City,
Utah.
Swanson, the fastest qualifier, passed Jeff Bergener on lap 37 and paced the
final four circuits in his DRC Framing Special to beat Bergener, Ryan Burdett,
Jim Campbell and Hunt.
Burdett, of West Jordan, Utah, emerged as the Young Automotive USAC/SLVRA
Rocky Mountain Sprint Car point leader as a result of his third-place finish. He
has a two-point lead over Bergener going into a May 12 race at the Utah oval.
Paul Marconi (laps 1-9) and Burdett (10-11) paved the early laps before Bergener
led for the next 25 laps.
