September 3, 2007 - Bud Kaeding of Campbell, Calif. will take a 53-point lead over Wayne Reutimann Jr. of Zephyr Hills, Fla. into the “Super Saturday” Sept. 15 “Hew Hampshire 75” at New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, N.H. Kaeding extended his K & N Silver Crown Championship Series lead with a third-place finish in Sunday night’s “Ted Horn 100” at the DuQuoin (Ill.) State Fairgrounds.
Shane Cottle of Kokomo, Ind. earned his first K & N USAC Silver Crown Championship victory Sunday night at the Magic Mile in DuQuoin, leading all 100 laps of the 57th "Ted Horn 100" in his Contos Racing Beast/Pink Ford. Cottle won the pole at 112.750 mph and led all the way despite late-race pressure from Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kaeding. The race was stopped twice by red flags but there were no driver injuries.
Trailing Cottle, Stenhouse and Kaeding at the checkered flag were Dave Darland, Jon Stanbrough, Jerry Coons Jr., Mat Neely, Ron Gregory, Shane Hollingsworth and Levi Jones.
The race at NHIS will be the first for the series at the 1.058-mile oval. A 75-lap feature race is on tap and will follow the New Hampshire 100 for the Whelen Modified Tour and the New Hampshire 200 for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
