Hanford, CA – July 24, 2007 …Peter Murphy and the Tarlton & Son Inc. Sprint car pulled into the Hanford’s pits last Saturday night, with the hopes of not only picking up the $1,500 SCRA main event, but more importantly, to keep his winning streak going.
Peter would be gunning for five-strait SCRA main event wins. The “No wings, No worries” Saturday night 50-lapper was one to remember.
After feeling out the car in hot laps. The Tarlton & Son, Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino, Ridgeline Framing, Sharp Insurance, VMAC, BR Motorsports No. 21. was ready for action.
Peter qualified in the 6th spot. Then it was show time! Peter pulled the belts extra tight, as he would start near the back of Heat #2. He was putting on a show, and the fans in the stands were showing their appreciation for his efforts! Peter crossed the line in the 3rd spot.
In the exciting 6-lap Passing Masters dash, Murphy again showed why he is a fan favorite. He was running HARD, as always. But it really was poetry in motion. I also must add that I too, as the fans, was extremely impressed by his driving prowess this evening. Race fans, he made an unbelievable move on two cars coming out of turn-4 that left the fans and me screaming for more! He crossed the line in the 2nd spot, which would line him up on the outside of the front row.
It was time for the 50-lap main event. When the green dropped, the young man from Clovis was patient, but aggressive. After taking the lead around lap-5, he never looked back, and brought home win #5!
Five wins in any division is a big deal, but to do it in a Sprint car is extra special!
“Yeah, we had a really good night. I felt great all night, even in hot laps the car felt great! Tom gives me a great car, and the guys work real hard for me”
On Tap! Peter will be at Silver Dollar Speedway this Friday and Saturday. He will be under the wing, driving for Elite Racing for the final two races in the Golden State Challenge Series action!

Question of the Week! “Do you pace yourself for a 50-lap race?”
Peter Answers! ”This is Sprint car racing, (laughs) there’s no pacing yourself! You just try and stay out of trouble, and make sure that you're there at the end“
