APPAREL WITH OBSCENITIES NOT ALLOWED AT PERRIS AUTO
SPEEDWAY!
|
(AUGUST 28, PERRIS, CA) Oval Entertainment, LLC President Don Kazarian is
advising that fans are not allowed to display apparel with obscenities or
obscene graphics at any event at Perris Auto Speedway.
A recent post on the scrafan.com web site message board by a concerned fan
prompted Kazarian to publicly address the issue. The fan commented that another
fan he was sitting near had a profanity printed on his shirt. The concerned fan
and others around him were commenting that it was inappropriate and they had
children with them who could see the profanity.
“It is not a new policy,” Kazarian said from behind his desk. “It is one
that we do not have to address that often as most responsible adults know that
wearing such apparel in public is inappropriate. I cannot understand why someone
would wear something like that in public in the first place. Whenever we see or
are advised that a fan is wearing something with obscenities or obscene
graphics, we approach them and ask them to cover it up. We run a family show and
we do not tolerate that. We have a lot of kids in our crowd and there is no way
in the world a mother or father should have to see their children exposed to
that or have to explain to them why someone would wear it.”
The policy regarding such apparel is quite simple. Any fan who shows up wearing
it will be asked to cover it up or put on something else. “If they do not have
anything else to wear, they can turn it inside out and wear it that way as long
as it does not show through,” Kazarian said. “If it shows through, as far as
we are concerned the problem will still exist and they will have to put
something else on. Anyone who cannot comply with this policy or anyone who turns
their apparel inside out to get in and then changes it back once they get inside
will be escorted from the facility.”
“We have a great, family oriented crowd and we have very few problems,”
Kazarian said. “We do not need fans who want to disrupt the family atmosphere
we have built over the last 11 years. For fans who do not wish to comply with
these ideals, we simply ask them to go somewhere else on Saturday night as we do
not need their money. We ask all of our fans that when they see inappropriate
apparel or any problems to report it to a staff member or security officer and
the problem will be addressed immediately. They should not wait until Monday to
call the office, E-mail or send a letter as it is almost impossible to address
it then.”
Racing continues at The PAS this Saturday night, September 1st, when Temecula
Valley Pipe & Supply presents the immensely popular Lucas Oil USAC/CRA
Sprint Cars.
